Local news programming offers the opportunity to address relevant issues around COVID-19 in real-time, speaking pointedly to communities and neighborhoods. While news will inherently cover the pandemic, local channels have the opportunity to highlight and investigate deeper issues relating to their audiences and build confidence in local public health systems, inspire vaccine acceptance and address health inequity.
